Autumn snow falls in Tasmania

May 3, 2016 | Weather | No Comments

As forecast snow fell as low as 800 metres overnight in Tasmania.

Miena in the Central Plateau woke to a light covering and a nice shade of white lit up Mt Wellington.

The pool of cold air came in on the wake of a cold front that whipped up blustery winds and brought in much needed rain.

Snow is gradually rising this morning, further weather fronts are forecast for Friday and Sunday, the highest rainfalls will be over central and western Tasmania with a 4-day outlook predicting 25-50 millimetres.
